GET JOBS BY LOCKING YOUR PHONES IN CLASS

Launched in October 2017, Lock&Stock is a free mobile application that incentivizes UAE students for not using their phones in class. Students can use their rewards to (1) redeem offers and discounts from partner brands, and (2) apply for available jobs and internships. As of May 2018, Lock&Stock boasts over 12,000 registered students and 200 partner brands on the application, a few notable ones being Novo Cinemas, VOX Cinemas, New York Fries, FiLLi Café, Zomato, Careem, Talabat, Nando’s and Yas Waterworld. There are over 350 education institutes around the country currently affiliated with Lock&Stock.

With its latest update, Lock&Stock now includes a new Lock&Jobs feature on the application. Lock&Jobs is Lock&Stock’s hiring platform that connects businesses with the UAE’s brightest young talent. Students attending schools and universities can earn ‘tokens’ along with their points and use them to apply for a variety of internships and promotional jobs.

Lock&Jobs is a free to use platform for partners. Companies that are looking to hire student interns, promoters or even fresh graduates can post as many available jobs or internships on the Lock&Stock application, and will never be charged a dirham. Through Lock&Jobs, not only will these companies be able to bolster their own internship programs or student hiring initiatives, but they will also be encouraging the nation’s youth to keep their phones away while in class.
