ICT industry veteran Pieter Bensch takes on new role at Sage MEA

Sage has appointed ICT industry veteran Pieter Bensch as the company's executive vice president for the Middle East and Africa.
In his new role, Bensch will lead Sage's growth across the region, as well as expand its leadership in the market for cloud-based accounting, people and payroll and payments software. Bensch will oversee local strategy to move businesses and entrepreneurs to an admin-free world by 2020.
Commenting on his new role, Bensch said: "I'm joining at Sage at an exciting time when its business is enjoying rapid growth through Africa and Middle East and its cloud-enabled products are gathering momentum.
"I'm looking forward to working closely with the regional team as we strive to help empower entrepreneurs and business owners to spend less time on admin and more time on what they love doing. With a high-performance culture, hunger for success and smart technology, Sage is a perfect fit for me."
Bensch will work closely with Aaron White, regional director for Sage Middle East to deliver the Sage vision in the region. Bensch's has held several senior positions at Oracle, including vice president of Oracle Europe, Middle East and Africa, vice-president of customer support for MEA and vice president and managing director of Oracle South Africa. Thereafter, he moved to Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, where he was managing director for South Africa.
