Thuraya Telecommunications Company is looking forward to form public sector partnerships in Saudi Arabia, after a successful completion of a major road show in the Kingdom.

The roadshow which was exclusively developed in line with increasing KSA's public sector interests, took place in July and included visits to Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam.

The company also held meetings with senior-level officials and government system integrators in the Kingdom to demonstrate its latest product portfolio and explore possibilities for collaborative ventures. Thuraya's national service partner, Farhan Commercial Company played a prime role in enabling meetings with the country's crucial decision makers.

Many meetings were held with specialised solution integrators who work with the government to deliver customised applications for military and government vehicles. Thuraya also held discussions to determine the scope for developing specific M2M solutions such as seismic sensors for the KSA market.

Fahad Kahoor, director of market development at Thuraya and team lead on the KSA trip said: "Our relationship with influential companies like Farhan has given us a strong foothold in KSA and helped us gain steady growth in key vertical markets across the region. Having completed our most recent series of meetings, we are poised to deliver tailored solutions for existing clients and look forward to actualising partnerships that add advanced satellite capabilities to the KSA government's technology-centric plans."

He added: "By being in close contact with service partners and clients, we had the advantage of listening to customer feedback in a face-to-face setting. We value these comments as these help us improve our value proposition and product features in a manner that best benefits the end-user."

Thuraya's SatSleeve+ for example is a popular device that caters to the BYOD trend and presents the fastest way for an individual to transform their existing phone into a satellite smartphone. With the recent launch of Thuraya IP M2M, the company now also offers capabilities for IoT connectivity in remote locations and industrial sites.
