Cisco appoints Ali Amer to lead Global Service Provider Sales in MEA

Ali Amer has been selected by Cisco to head up the company's Global Service Provider Sales division for the Middle East and Africa market.
In addition to supporting the region's telecommunications segment meet the demands of the digital era, the new managing director is tasked with implementing a robust sales strategy for the segment and promoting growth, as well as identifying ways to streamline day-to-day business operations.
Peter Karlstromer, SVP for Global Service Provider Sales, Cisco EMEAR, said: "Ali is a highly regarded leader known for his close working relationships and deep understanding of the telecoms industry landscape. His expertise and ability to build high performance teams will undoubtedly accelerate our momentum in delivering the digital ecosystem and network infrastructure that our customers need to capture rising opportunities."
Amer previously served as the managing director Cisco's Service Provider segment in Middle East and Turkey. Bringing over 25 years of experience to the job, Amer held other positions within the same unit, which included a run as senior Telecom and IT consultant. Before joining Cisco back in 2013, Amer spent a total of 15 years working at Motorola Networks, rising the company ranks to serve as VP and GM for EMEA.
