Face recognition technology launched for Uber drivers in Dubai

Uber in Dubai has introduced driver verification using facial recognition technology, The National reported. The report said that drivers will be ocassionally asked to share a selfie before becoming available for rides, and if the two photos do not match, the account is temporarily blocked while Uber looks into the situation. The driver verification feature was rolled out by Uber in the US first last year.
