Empower receives demand from Sheikh Zayed Road-based buildings’ owners to convert into district cool

HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (EMPOWER), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, urged buildings’ owners on Sheikh Zayed Road to convert from traditional chilling services to district cooling. The call follows the company’s delivery of service to many buildings in the area.
Empower’s ongoing process to deliver district cooling services at Sheikh Zayed Road area is in accordance with the company’s work in the area between Burj Khalifa/ Dubai Mall metro station to JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, where the district cooling infrastructure is built according to international standards.
“Our invitation to buildings’ owners on Sheikh Zayed Road to shift to the district cooling systems comes under the directives of our wise leadership, and it is part of our ambitious strategy to expand our services to reach outat Dubai’s all areas in the coming years. Our major goal is to replace conventional cooling services that consume a lot of energy, with new technologies that support the efficient use of energy. District cooling service works by cooling the water then pump it through network of pipes, then passing the air through the network at the building to be cooled.” said HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
HE Bin Shafar said that according to Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 and Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, the district cooling service represents the future of cooling service in Dubai, to use more eco-friendly technologies and reduce energy consumption. The results would be prosperity in the society and positive impact on the economy.
“Conserving energy is not the only benefit of district cooling service, it has many other advantages. To start with, it reduces the service costs, which helps diminishing the fees comparing to conventional cooling services. Also, district cooling service is considered an effective eco-friendly tool which minimises the carbon emissions, which helps reducing the pressure on the electricity grids and water networks in Dubai. On the other side, Empower possesses a professional team of experts who can deal with any emergency with total efficiency. As for the customer service, Empower’s clients will
have special attention to guarantee the continuity of the service with efficiency and flexibility, especially in payment options and service recovery,” continued Bin Shafar.
