Foundation set for Abu Dhabi's $1.2bn Reem Mall
Abu Dhabi's Reem Mall is due to complete in 2020.
The foundation stone has been set for Abu Dhabi's $1.2bn (AED4.4bn) Reem Mall.
The UAE's Minister of Tolerance, HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan (pictured), attended the foundation stone ceremony with other dignitaries and senior officials.
Al Farwaniya Property Developments' project, located within the Najmat District of Reem Island, will span 18.6ha, and is due for completion in 2020.
More than 450 retail options will be developed within the project, in addition to 85 food and beverage (F&B) outlets, and the Snow Park Abu Dhabi.
Construction work began late in 2017, with the Italian-Emirati joint venture, Itinera Ghantoot, awarded a $626m (AED2.3bn) contract to build the project.
A single-phase delivery model has been picked for the project.
Al Farwaniya Property Developments is a partnership between Agility; Agility's affiliate, United Projects for Aviation Services Company (UPAC); and Kuwait's National Real Estate Company (NREC).
