One Za'abeel celebrates record concrete pour
One Za’abeel, an iconic new high-rise mixed development that will tower over Zabeel Park in Dubai, UAE, has successfully completed the record pouring of 26,000 cu m of concrete over a 7,600-sq-m raft foundation footprint, said the project's main contractor. The whole process took an estimated 132 hours, thus making it one of the largest concrete pours in the UAE, stated Alec Engineering and Contracting, a major construction company based in Dubai, UAE. Located at the heart of Dubai, One Za’abeel comprises two skyscrapers linked by what is described as the world’s largest cantilever, floating 100 m above the ground. The project's name came as it carries the address 1 Za’abeel, located between the old and new business districts of Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road. The project comprises two adjacent towers, 67 and 57 stories high respectively and is connected by the iconic Linx. The project, being developed by Ithra Dubai, the real estate arm of state-owned Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), forms a gateway between the old and the new business districts, at the World Trade Center Roundabout roundabout. Covering a total built-up area of 480,000 sq m, the project will have 37,000 sq m office space, 12,000 sq m of retail, a 90-key ultra luxury hotel, a 314-key luxury hotel, 94 serviced apartment, 263 residential apartments and 2,500 parking spaces,
