Bahrain’s Alba names casthouse maintenance and services manager
Hassan Qader has been named manager for casthouse maintenance and services at Alba.
Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has announced the appointment of Hassan Qader as manager for casthouse maintenance and services.
Qader joined the Bahrain-based aluminium smelter in 1998 as a trainee in the company’s casthouse electrical department, following which he was promoted to higher grades in the same department, and in Casthouse 1 and 3.
He was named electrical and automation engineer in Casthouse 1, 2, and 3, in 2011, and promoted to electrical and instrument superintendent in 2014.
Qader had been serving as the acting manager for the casthouse maintenance and services department since May 2017, the company said in a statement.

Commenting on Qader’s promotion, Tim Murray, chief executive officer of Alba, said: “Alba is committed to promote from within [and] provide opportunities for Bahraini nationals, to empower them to take up higher roles.
“Hassan has demonstrated good managerial skills, and I am confident that he will contribute to the growth and development of his department.”
Qader holds an MBA from ESSEC, in addition to his bachelor’s degree in information technology and computer science.
