Saudi HVACR and FM sectors see growing demand

Recently concluded trade shows in Jeddah welcome 18% more visitors in 2018

An increased number of visitors at a leading show in Saudi Arabia has highlighted a growing demand in the kingdom’s HVACR market and Facilities Management sectors.

More than 5,000 delegates attended the HVACR Expo Saudi and co-located FM EXPO Saudi & Saudi Clean Expo, which marks an 18% increase in visitor numbers as compared to last year, organisers dmg events Middle East, Asia & Africa observes.

“A spike in the turnout of visitors to this year’s expos are a clear indicator that growing HVAC R and facilities management sectors in Saudi demand a dedicated platform where industry professionals can network, do business and discover new technologies,” said event director Roni El Haddad.

Current Standards and regulations surrounding HVAC R in Saudi is recognised as a key driver behind the sector’s continued growth. This was a popular topic during the EU – Saudi Arabia Energy Efficiency Meeting, which kick-started the show, as well as the free-to-attend CPD workshops.

“Industry professionals whether from the products side or engineering side, construction side or facilities management side, must brace themselves to deliver high quality output to sustain and grow in the market,” said Mohamed R. Zackariah, chief consultant at Suhaimi Design – Protecooling, and a speaker at the show.

The market for HVAC-R systems in Saudi Arabia was estimated to reach $3.33bn in 2017. It is expected to double to $6.36 by 2022 at a CAGR of around 13%, according to TechSci Research, boosting the confidence of manufacturers, suppliers and distributors within the sector towards a promising future.

The event took place at Jeddah International Convention & Exhibition Centre but will change next year to Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

“Presenting the event in Riyadh next year will not only help our exhibitors to reach a wider audience in the country, but it will provide a stage where the most innovative solutions and equipment can more directly influence regulation and policy development in their respective industries,” says Al Haddad.

The 2019 edition of HVACR Expo Saudi, with co-located events, will be held for the first time in the capital from 14-16 January 2019.
