Bahrain discusses key road network to new airport terminal
Senior government officials discussed the progress made on the road network leading to the new terminal building at Bahrain International Airport at a work meeting hosted by the kingdom's transportation and telecommunications ministry, said a report. The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Kamal bin Ahmed Mohamed, comes following the commitment from HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to complete the roadworks as per schedule, reported BNA. It was attended by senior Works Ministry officials including Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayat, the works undersecretary, Huda Abdullah Fakhro, the assistant undersecretary for roads, and Bahrain Airport Company CEO Mohammed Yusuf Al Binfalah. During the meeting the Works Ministry’s officials briefed the minister on the progress made in the new airport terminal building, which falls under the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry’s plan to promote aviation sector in Bahrain., stated the report. They also gave a detailed presentation of the next stages of the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry’s plan for the development of Road 2403 coming from Arad Road taking to Bahrain International Airport, it said. The minister stressed the ministry’s readiness to provide all facilitations possible to finish the roadworks on time, reported BNA. The new airport terminal building is the largest infrastructure project in Bahrain, which will contribute to benefit air cargo operations and passengers, it added.
