Arcadis appoints city executive for Dubai

Arcadis has appointed Mario Pishiri as its city executive for Dubai.

In his new role, Pishiri will leverage the Netherlands-headquartered consultancy’s local and global expertise to help meet the urban goals of its clients in the emirate, in line with Dubai Plan 2021.

Pishiri boasts more than 35 years of engineering experience, 20 of which have been spent living and working in Dubai.

In his previous role, Pishiri was responsible for Arcadis’s growth and performance in the wider UAE business.

Dr Kamiran Ibrahim, chief executive officer of Arcadis Middle East, said: “The leaders of Dubai have made a strong and clear commitment to innovation as they seek to develop a smart and sustainable city over the coming years.

“Achieving these goals will require first-class delivery partners who understand the city, but who can also think holistically and tap into ideas from around the world. The ‘Cities’ programme provides a perfect platform in which to showcase the very best of Arcadis, and I wish Mario every success in his new role.”

Commenting on his latest appointment, Pishiri added: “The development of Dubai over the last 15 to 20 years has been incredibly impressive, and reflects the visionary leadership within the emirate. As it continues to evolve into one of the world’s leading cities, it now faces a different set of challenges.

“I look forward to drawing upon our global expertise to help develop first-class solutions that address some of these issues, and which ultimately help to improve quality of life for the people who live in, work in, or visit this unique city,” he concluded.
