Dubai Health Authority inaugurates JLT medical fitness centre

Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has inaugurated a new medical fitness centre in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), it has been announced.

In a statement, DHA revealed that the inauguration also saw the launch of its Salem medical fitness and occupational screening system.

DHA said that it has integrated the screening system into all medical fitness centres in Dubai in a bid to improve customer experience, reduce wait time, and make blood test and X-ray results available electronically.

All expatriates in the UAE are required to undergo a medical fitness screening before they can be granted a residency or employment visa.

Maisa Al Bustani, director of medical fitness services department at DHA, said that the authority has started streamlining medical fitness services. According to her, 65 service centers in the emirate, 35 of which are Tasheel Centers, have been accredited and are authorised to provide services.

“We will also make sure that all these centres are […] distributed evenly across Dubai to ensure that residents are able to go to a centre that is in proximity to his or her home,” she added.

She further noted that the new centre can accommodate more than 5,000 customers per day.
