New stages of Jeddah Waterfront project to launch
he 4.2km project to feature the longest walking bridge in the Kingdom
The fourth and fifth stages of the 4.2km long waterfront project in Jeddah will be launched next month, the municipality has announced.
The development area is more than 700,000 sqm, and extends from Al-Nawras Square to Jubair Bin Al-Harith Street, Saudi Gazette reported.
Additional areas of 350,000 sqm have been added and the green areas are about 275,000 sqm. These include a 6km-long sewage network, a 14km-long drainage network of rainwater and floods, a 7km-long network of irrigation tanks, drinking water and an electricity network consisting of 16km of medium voltage cables, 35km of low voltage cables and communications network.
These are in addition to a 4,634 metre sea walkway and three swimming beaches of about 50,000 sqm.
The development includes the construction of 17 plaza areas, 14 fountains, five beach observation towers, five swimming beaches, and a marine taxi. It will also feature dining options and a 650 metre hanging pedestrian bridge that will connect the Corniche to Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Street, expected to be the longest walking bridge in the Kingdom.
