Nakheel reveals plans for six new projects at Cityscape

Range of developments includes residential, retail and hospitality.

Dubai-based master developer Nakheel has unveiled details of six new projects worth a combined AED 4bn ($1.09bn).

Plans include a luxury high-rise project on Palm Jumeirah; a mixed-use complex at Discovery Gardens; a collection of homes and leisure attractions at Jumeirah Park; a new hotel at Jumeirah Village Circle; and six marinas at Deira Islands.

Palm Beach Residences is a 180 metre residential tower located on the eastern trunk of Palm Jumeirah featuring 250 apartments topped off by a 38th floor sky lounge. Construction is expected to begin in Q2 2018.

Jenan Heights is a collection of nine towers with 2,500 apartments between them, all set in a new, gated community at Discovery Gardens.

The project, which is due to break ground in Q2 2018, will be connected by a pedestrian bridge to another new Nakheel project, Discovery Gardens Mall, which in turn will be connected to a Dubai Metro station currently under construction as part of the Route 2020 Metro extension project.

With more than 370,000 square feet of new shop space and a 350-room hotel, Discovery Gardens Mall will transform the existing Discovery Gardens Pavilion into a retail, hospitality and healthcare complex, providing more amenities for residents in and around Discovery Gardens. Construction is expected to begin in Q2 2018.

Jumeirah Park Villas will comprise 174 residences at Nakheel’s Jumeirah Park community, where Nakheel has already delivered around 2,000 villas. Construction is due to start in Q2 2018.

Also to be built at Jumeirah Park Community is Jumeirah Park Leisure is a brand new health, fitness and wellbeing complex that features a 50 metre, Olympic-size swimming pool, a 16,000 sq ft gym and a spa. Construction is expected to begin in Q2 2018.

A new 252-room hotel will add a mid-scale hospitality offering to Nakheel’s rapidly-growing JVC master community. The developer is currently in talks with several prospective operators for the hotel, which is due to break ground in Q2 2018.

Finally, Nakheel is investing AED 165mn in the construction of six marinas at its 15.3 sq km Deira Islands master development. The marinas are due for completion by the end of 2019, with phased construction starting Q4 2017.
