ALEC wins Dubai Hills Mall contract


Kez Taylor-led contractor to build Emaar-Meraas joint venture project.

ALEC has clinched the construction contract for Dubai Hills Mall, part of Dubai Hills Estate being developed by a joint venture of Emaar and Meraas.

Located on the corner of Al Khail Road and Umm Suqeim Street, the mall will feature 187,500 sq m of gross leasable area spread out over ground and first floor levels with over 750 retail and F&B outlets.

There will also be four major family entertainment and leisure centres including a cineplex, a 65,000 sq ft hypermarket, seven anchor retail experience stores, and parking spaces for over 7,000 vehicles.

ALEC’s scope of work includes construction and completion of Dubai Hills Mall together with associated external works, external services, hard and soft landscaping.

The project team has already begun work and completed 7.4% of the project.

JLL is the project manager with Hyder Consulting Middle East as the main engineer and Omnium as cost consultants.

ALEC has experience building large retail projects in the UAE, including Mirdif City Centre, Dubai Marina Mall, Dubai Festival City
