Abu Dhabi adds over 900 new buildings in Q2

The tally is over 20% higher than the same period last year.
Over 900 new buildings were under construction in the emirate of Abu Dhabi during the second quarter of 2017, a huge 21.6% increase on the 751 buildings reported during the same period of 2016.
According to the Abu Dhabi Statistics Centre – 781 residential buildings constituted 85.5% of the 913 buildings that were built or under construction during the period.
Just over half of all the new buildings in the emirate were in Abu Dhabi municipality. The 470 buildings being constructed by the end of the second quarter was 18% higher than the 398 during the same period of 2016.
Al Ain had 395 buildings during the second quarter of this year compared to the same period last year, a growth rate of 23%.
In the Al Dhafra region, the number of constructed buildings reached 48 compared to 32 buildings during the same period, according to the statistics from the centre.
