CarSwitch.com, the UAE’s first certified used car online platform, has revealed from its data that Japanese brands are the most in demand for retail on Dubai’s second-hand automotive market.
Based on the current data, Toyota leads the market with an 11% share, led by its Corolla, Camry and Land Cruiser models, while Nissan follows with a 10% share of the market, led by its Altima and Patrol models.
The German brands are close behind, with BMW and Mercedes occupying the 3rd and 4th places, respectively – each with a 9% market share, and led by the BMW X5 and the Mercedes E-class.
Ford rounds off the top 5 with an 8% market share, owing in no small part to its Mustang, while Mitsubishi, Chevrolet and Porsche bring up the rear, with around 4% market share each.
CarSwitch launched its online platform in early 2016, providing direct seller-to-buyer services, while bringing transparency and a proprietary 200-point inspection and guaranteed warranty for every car, to the process.
