Bahrain's works ministry completes Waley al-Ahd Highway expansion
Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has added a U-turn to the Waley al-Ahd Highway roundabout.
Constructed under the interchange, the U-turn will accommodate traffic coming from Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway and heading for Sheikh Zayed Highway. It will lead to A’ali, Salmabad, and the Isa Town education zone.
According to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the project was implemented in accordance with the directives from HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister, to improve traffic flow in the kingdom.
The newly constructed U-turn can reportedly accommodate up to 800 cars per hour and is expected to help address traffic congestion on the interchanges of Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway and Sheikh Isa bin Salman Highway.
