Walkways, parking spaces completed for Al Mina Road in Abu Dhabi
A total area of approximately 3,400m2 was redeveloped as part of the initiative.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) has completed the construction of 154 parking spaces and 1,100m2 of pedestrian walkways along a stretch of Al Mina Road.
Approximately 2,300m2of parking spaces have been built, taking the initiative’s total development area to 3,400m2.
The project was conducted in a bid to support the infrastructural requirements of the area, according to ADM.
The municipality allocated five of the new parking spots for individuals with disabilities. The initiative also involved lighting, signal, and drainage works.
ADM said the upgrades form part of the overall master plan for the Abu Dhabi 2030 strategic vision, which targets the provision of infrastructure for all citizens; services capable of supporting the city’s continuous development; and world-class specifications
The additional Al Mina Road surface parking spaces is expected to reduce pressure on central parking in the area, while providing safe corridors for pedestrians
