Middle East Road and Bridges Forum held in Dubai


The UAE’s Minister of Infrastructure Development, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, opened the Middle East Road and Bridge Forum on Monday, April 3 at the Intercontinental Festival City.

The forum is a platform for companies involved in advanced infrastructure development in the Gulf and Middle East region. The two day event organised by the ministry attracted over 300 delegates and more than 20 exhibitors.

“UAE’s able leadership gives great importance to the infrastructure and road network,” the minister said at the opening ceremony. “This contributes to supporting inclusive development index and achieving accomplishments in the field of infrastructure.”

The minister said road building was a top priority to please nationals and residents in the UAE where federal highways total 3,600 kilometer-lanes.

Awards

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi received a special award for being a pioneer in leadership and innovation in the field of infrastructure development in transportation.

Aramco won an award for best initiative in the field of minimising road congestion.

The award for best innovation campaign in traffic safety was given to H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, General Manager of Emirates Transport, received the award for Best Road Safety Innovation Campaign by a Transport Sector.

The award for best Traffic safety initiative between a public and private company was given to Dubai Silicon Oasis in partnership with Volkswagen. Nissan Middle East received the award for best road safety innovation campaign by an automobile company.

The award for best traffic safety campaign in the retail sector went given to ENOC Auto Pro and Pepsico MENA received the same award in the commercial sector. McDonald’s Arabia won the award for best safety campaign by a food chain.
