UAE: Ajman to construct $1.6m bus station
The government of Ajman has announced that it will be constructing a bus station worth $1.6m (AED6m) on the emirate’s Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
According to news agency WAM, HH Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, approved the designs and objectives of the project during a meeting with Omer Ahmed Omair, general manager of the Emirates Transport Corporation in Ajman.
The primary aim behind the project is to ease the movement of commuters from the emirate to other parts of the country.
Omair was quoted in the report saying that the planned bus terminal will be part of a series of projects that the corporation will be implementing in 2017, under the Ajman Strategic Vision 2021.
He added: ''The 30,000m2 station will have 30 slots for intercity buses and will house administrative, commercial, recreational, parking and services facilities.''
