Experts discuss fibre optic cabling for building sector
Leading experts in the field of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) discussed the wide range of fibre optic cabling solutions for ICT and construction industries at a key event held in Manama, Bahrain. It was hosted by Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF) ICT Special Interest Group at the Gulf Hotel Convention Centre.
A leading network of businessmen and women in Bahrain, the BBBF has nine special interest groups covering oil, gas and energy, hospitality, construction, banking and financial services, ICT and legal sectors; as well as organisational effectiveness, young professionals and women in business. The first meeting of the BBBF ICT special interest group was sponsored by Condor Technology, Bahrain in partnership with Prysmian Group, a global leader in fiber optic cables. During the event, Kris Roberts, Prysmian Group’s connectivity & FTTH specialist; Toni Nieto, Middle East telecom solution manager; and Carlos Lopez, Prysmian Telecom Director, UK presented a highly cost effective and time saving product for running fibre to the end point in high rise buildings. Known as Verticasa, the solution is quick to deploy and ensures minimum splice points between the incoming fiber to the basement of a building and the end customer, said the statement from Prysmian. Creating a big impact on the ICT and construction industries this advanced fiber optic cabling solution is suitable for both Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) projects, it stated. The BBBF special interest groups offer members and guests a valuable medium for exchanging industry specific ideas and discussing issues relevant to a particular sector in a more informal setting
